Our goal is to educate and allow you to make the best decisions possible for you, your business and your family. Study Club

Study Club

As a dentist you spend 4 years learning the clinical side of dentistry.  Each month we hold classes to teach you the business side of dentistry.  When coupled with our coaching and mentoring services your learning curve will be accelerated.  We teach that you can create more wealth on the business side of dentistry than you can on the clinical!

Classes are open to dentists and their spouses or significant others.  Front Desk employees, office managers, and team leaders are invited to appropriate classes. Check out our events page here to see our full schedule.

We work 1-on-1 with our clients to identify and solve problems.  As we work to meet needs and resolve concerns we introduce new concepts to grow the practice.  From new patient generation to teaching you and your team how to more effectively build relationships with patients, our coaching and mentoring services provide the necessary feedback to help you grow your practice.

Help your Team think like Owners

Being a small business owner means that you are a capitalist and that you are taking a risk. The practice has to do well enough to pay the overhead so that you can make a profit and take money home.  We teach you how to motivate staff so you all benefit as the business grows.

Many dentists allow the business to own them, instead of the other way around.  Ask yourself, do you own the practice, or does the practice own you?  Could you take next week off and have the business keep producing?  We teach our clients how to effectively lead the business

We encourage our dentists to work 3 days a week, but have the practice open 6 days. That means you maintain a good quality of life while still running a successful business.

Dentists spend more time and effort making plans to get into dentistry than they do making a plan to get out of it alive. At DBA we believe that you were not born a dentist and that you should not die a dentist... there is more to life.  And there are better ways to create wealth than just doing clinical dentistry with your own two hands.

 

Rather than working until the day you walk out the door, when your practice is losing value, it is best to sell your practice when it is at peak value.  This approach means that as a dentist you need an exit strategy that allows you to sell before you are ready to walk away, while your practice is still going strong, and keep working as long as you would like. Selling does not have to equate to retirement.

 

Buying the right practice will help you get ahead.  85% of the value of the practice is the goodwill--the relationship the patients have with the doctor.  So why push the selling doctor out?  Rather than buying a practice for as little as possible, or buying a practice with no cash flow, or losing a large portion of the patients, we teach dentists how to buy healthy practices that can serve as vehicles to financial security while maintaining their quality of life.
